Lynne Kenney, Psy.D., is a mother of two, a practicing pediatric psychologist in Scottsdale, AZ, and the author of The Family Coach Method (St Lynn’s Press, Sept 2009). She has advanced fellowship training in forensic psychology and developmental pediatric psychology from Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School and Harbor-UCLA/UCLA Medical School.
Dr. Kenney is an avid writer, blogger and media producer. She co-produced six videos with BabyFirst TV, and appears as a resident expert on Sonoran Living ABC 15. Lynne hosts The Family Coach Solution Studio on BlogTalk Radio. Her Better Living Content has appeared on ABC, the Montel Williams Show, and various child/family websites (including Ladies Home Journal and Better Homes and Gardens). Dr. Kenney is a consultant to The International Nanny Association and The National Head Start Association, for whom she was National Ambassador, 2007.
Dr. Kenney began her career in Boston as an intern at Beaverbrook Guidance Center and a fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital with a focus on play therapy, developmental psychology and forensic psychology. She enjoyed 12 valuable years with The Melmed Center conducting child assessment and therapy. In 2007, Dr. Kenney joined the team at North Scottsdale Pediatrics as The Family Coach where she worked with families in their homes teaching The Family Coach Method.
Through The Family Coach Method, Dr. Kenney shows parents of children ages 3 to 8 (the critical years for developing values and behavior patterns) how to create specific, foundational life skills that will stay with children through good times and bad. Combining the practicality of Supernanny with the creative problem solving of a super sleuth, Dr. Kenney helps busy families of young children identify core values and create long-term, practical child-rearing strategies that work with a minimum of time investment. She gives parents the words and actions to teach their children how to grow into independent, confident, compassionate, accountable kids. Incorporating cooking, play, music, video and story-telling in her practice she helps children develop social, developmental, cognitive and academic skills through hands-on activities designed to empower kids.
